Excellence in Chiropractic Care

Our Mission

Almost everyone who comes to our clinic is dealing with pain. That is what we do: we help people overcome pain. We take their pain seriously — we don’t treat it superficially, and we don’t just aim to make people feel better, but to help them truly get well.

Our Vision

In truth, our approach to chiropractic is not centred on pain, but on restoring normal function. Our chiropractic treatments do not simply mute the pain: we identify the cause of the problem and awaken the body’s innate capacity for self-healing. All of our chiropractic treatments are holistic, natural, and drug-free.

Our Promise

Chiropractic testing allows us to identify the true cause of any dysfunction that generates pain; the treatment removes it and allows the body to regain its normal balance. Being able to personalise each treatment allows us to achieve much faster and much more lasting results.

Treatment

Chiropractic treatment: the art and science of spinal adjustment

Like chiropractic itself, treatment or adjustment is considered both a science and an art. There are many adjustment techniques which, combined with the chiropractor’s professionalism and sensitivity, can eliminate or reduce a vertebral block, or subluxation.
A dynamic stimulus applied to the spine is the basis of a manipulative treatment: the chiropractor works to release the vertebra from an incorrect position, helping it regain its natural movement. The chiropractor does not manually reposition a subluxated vertebra, but provides the body with a mechanical stimulus for correct, autonomous realignment.
To perform a correction, the chiropractor has numerous techniques available, some of which involve the use of instruments.

Graston Technique

The Graston Technique is a proven, advanced technology for treating soft connective tissue damage.

The Graston Technique is performed with patented stainless-steel instruments specifically designed to locate and treat soft-tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation, reducing pain and restoring function. When connective tissue such as muscle, ligaments or tendons is restricted in movement or has adhesions, it can cause pain, tenderness, loss of flexibility and difficulty moving. Often a part of the body loses mobility without pain while another part becomes dysfunctional — a phenomenon known as the “kinetic chain”. Besides the steel instruments, Graston treatment methods can also include the use of heat, ice and rehabilitation exercises to achieve the best possible result. This technique follows a personalised programme set by the doctor, typically involving 6 to 8 sessions.

Spinal Decompression

A valuable addition to the treatment of herniated discs

In many industrialised countries, herniated discs are recognised as a widespread and disabling condition. Until a few years ago, episodes of low back pain were thought to be isolated and self-contained. Today, the pace of modern life means that a high percentage of patients with back pain suffer recurring episodes that lead to chronic conditions.
As we know, chiropractic is a valid non-surgical method for addressing this and other conditions affecting the spine. Combining chiropractic technique with spinal decompression has added a further degree of effectiveness to the chiropractor’s work and greater benefit and recovery for the patient.
With recent technological advances, spinal decompression has evolved into an effective treatment for herniated discs and degenerative disc disease, the most common cause of back pain.
This non-surgical treatment for herniated and degenerative disc conditions works on the affected spinal segment, significantly reducing inter-discal pressure.
Chronic disability from low back pain is the most costly benign condition treated by medicine in industrialised countries. It is also the number one cause of disability in people under 45, and the third leading cause after that age.
According to the literature, traditional traction has proven less effective and biomechanically inadequate for producing optimal therapeutic results, and does not achieve true decompression. Spinal decompression, on the other hand — the unloading achieved through distraction and repositioning of the intervertebral discs and facet joints of the lumbar spine — has proven to be an effective treatment for degenerative and herniated disc conditions.
The biomechanics of the DRX9000 (a decompression-reduction device) works by decompressing a specific disc, previously diagnosed through an accurate physical examination and appropriate diagnostic imaging.
The decompression angle at the affected level produces negative intra-discal pressure, creating an osmotic pressure gradient through which nutrients, water and blood flow into the degenerated or herniated discs, allowing the recovery and healing phases to take place.
An analysis of clinical outcomes, carried out to evaluate the effect of spinal decompression on the symptoms of patients with a herniated disc or degenerative disc conditions, showed that 86% of the 219 patients who completed the therapy reported immediate relief of symptoms. Physical examination results showed improvement in 92% of the 219 patients who completed the therapy.
In conclusion, spinal decompression offers a valuable addition to chiropractic treatment for herniated discs.
From this it can be seen that the results of spinal decompression using the DRX9000 are numerous, benefiting both the biomechanics and the physiology of the disc.

DRX 9000 Method

A treatment designed to overcome back pain without drugs or surgery

Indicated for herniated or protruding lumbar discs, disc degeneration and sciatica, the DRX 9000 is a non-surgical spinal decompression system that works by widening the intra-discal spaces, reducing the herniation and lowering intra-discal pressure during treatment. Clinical studies have shown that the DRX 9000 can achieve an 86% success rate, and most patients report a reduction in pain after just the first few sessions. Each DRX 9000 session lasts approximately 25-30 minutes. The treatment protocol requires patients to undergo therapy three to four times a week, for a total of 14-20 sessions that vary depending on the patient’s response.

DRX 9000 Testimonials

L. M.

I have to say that after years of surgical, neurosurgical, neurological and orthopaedic visits, and large doses of anti-inflammatories and painkillers, I had no clear prospect of a solution. The therapy carried out at the chiropractic clinic, with both massage and the DRX9000, allowed me to return to a normal life and avoid a surgery whose outcome was far from certain. Now, with periodic follow-ups and moderate physical activity, I can say that I am doing well.
Thank you, Laura

G. I.

My name is Gabriele.
In June 2009, while lifting a rather bulky flower pot, I felt a pain in my back (later found to be the early stages of two herniations in the lower lumbar vertebrae) that bent me over at 90 degrees, without any warning. You may not believe it, but the pain was so acute that it took me almost 20 minutes to get out of bed, when it usually takes a few seconds. I turned to Joshua Luster and his DRX for help… after an initial, intensive and decisive course of spinal decompression, I now undergo occasional maintenance treatment, which allows me to live a normal life and even lift considerable weights again (with due caution). I can say without hesitation that both Joshua and the DRX gave me a new lease on life.

L. D.

I have suffered from back pain for 30 years. I have a lumbar herniation that has affected my life. Over the past year my pain had intensified so much that everything became very difficult. I underwent decompression with the DRX9000 as soon as it arrived. After 2 months of therapy I still hadn’t noticed any substantial change and was starting to feel rather discouraged. I remember, however, that one morning I got out of bed feeling strange, and immediately realised the feeling was the absence of my usual back pain. Since then I have continued with maintenance sessions, and the quality of my life has improved markedly.
