Dr. Joshua Ryan Luster
DOCTOR IN CHIROPRACTIC
Chiropractic is a primary healthcare profession that recognises the body’s intrinsic ability to achieve and maintain a state of proper balance.
The Doctor of Chiropractic identifies the underlying causes of a disorder and removes functional neurological interference (subluxation), improving the integrity of the spine and the functioning of the central and peripheral nervous system. The Doctor of Chiropractic holds a Master’s Degree in Chiropractic in line with international standards for chiropractic education.
The International Chiropractic Services
was founded in Siena in 1987
Back then, chiropractic was almost unknown, not only in Siena but throughout Italy. The complete novelty and effectiveness of the treatments meant that, in a short time, many people were drawn to this natural method of care. The first patients who came to us for chiropractic treatment spoke about the results with friends and relatives, who in turn tried our care, benefited from it, and kept the word of mouth going.
Collaboration
Over the years our clinic has worked with numerous chiropractors from all over the world, who have brought their own professional skill and training to the practice.
Patients’ Trust
Today many people turn to chiropractic care to resolve their health issues, and we are proud to help patients who come from across the province and beyond.
In the USA and Japan, chiropractic is the most widespread healthcare profession that does not rely on the use of drugs or medications.
The Italian Chiropractors Association (AIC) has been active since 1974 and works to protect both patients and the profession from unqualified practice, which is still widespread in Italy. It guarantees that patients are treated by qualified Doctors of Chiropractic trained to international professional standards, and works alongside government institutions towards the creation of an official professional register and the definitive regulation of the profession.

The Origins of Chiropractic
Chiropractic was officially born on September 18, 1895, in Davenport, Iowa, when Daniel David Palmer — a magnetic healer who had previously worked as a teacher and grocer — performed what is considered the first spinal adjustment in history on Harvey Lillard, a man who had suffered from severe hearing loss for seventeen years.
Palmer identified an irregularity in one of the vertebrae of Lillard’s back and, after correcting it by hand with a specific manoeuvre, the man reported a clear improvement in his hearing. From this observation came the idea that many disorders of the body could stem from poor spinal alignment and the resulting interference with the nervous system — the principle on which chiropractic is still based today.
In 1897 the world’s first school of chiropractic was founded in Davenport, laying the foundations of a profession that would spread internationally over the following decades — eventually reaching Europe and Italy, where it is recognised today as a valid, natural approach to spinal care.
